Let people know when you turn off comments
If you are going to turn of blog comments for any reason, it’s etiquette to say so, or make the form unavailable (any blogging platform worth its salt can do this on a per-post basis, or across the whole site).
It’s not amusing to respond to a post only to be told after submitting the comment form that “comments are currently disabled”.
Particularly on a post that’s specifically asking for comments!
