Twelve ways your blog transforms youMay 17th, 2005

Steven has written some scarily recognisable traits of the blogger, in 12 ways your blog transforms you.

The list of twelve is at the end, and is the perceived positive side of blogging. However, you’ll need to read through the socially negative aspects first:

The person with a blog is always talking about blogs.

Others don’t understand how to deal with this.

Employers, work associates, friends, neighbors, parents, love partners, spouses, children, none of them can figure you out.

You spend too much time messing with your blog, posting new material to it, reading other blogs, posting comments at other blogs, emailing messages to authors of other blogs.

Maybe not for every more casual blogger, but for anyone with one or more regular themed or character blogs… probably.

If you’re a blogger, or know one personally, take a read and see if you don’t recognise some aspects in what’s described.

I deal with all spectrums of blogging.

    Dangers of personal blogging.
    Who should not blog.
    Resisting blog hype.
Worthless nature of most personal, mundane trivia blogs.
What’s wrong with most blog consultants.
How blogs fail to meet user neeeds.

    etc.

But thanks for pointing to my recent post on 12 Ways Your Blog Transforms You.

As a Christian, I always try to warn about negatives, but emphasize the positives.
